Leadership is much more than what we observe on the outside of a person. Leaders have an outer game--the actions that we see, the roles they take on and the promotions they earn--but there is also an inner game. One's inner game is made up of the conscious or unconscious thoughts that drive a leader's actions or prevents them from taking action. To maximize the performance of a knowledge worker, it is critical to understand how their inner world is impacting their inner game.
